We are Fundraising to Provide Clean Water
Poverty is palpable in the Mayan Guatemala village of Nimasac. You can almost taste it because the water is contaminated.
The town only got running water three years ago. Now it's time to get that water purified to keep diseases at bay; getting sick from bacteria and amoebas is not uncommon. A clinic run a few years ago demonstrated that people were generally dehydrated, not drinking enough water.
Families are receiving classes to show them how to use the water filter correctly and to teach them daily practices for good health. This begins with a train-the-trainers program for the whole village. Four hundred families have signed up to receive a filter and education; each family will contribute 10% of the cost.
Give health! Donate $45 today for one filter and training.
